People seek counselling support for a range of reasons and whilst the issues are often common, such as anxiety, depression, or stress, I do not apply a ‘one size fits all’ approach nor is it about ‘fixing’ the individual. Instead, it’s about going on a journey together so, in time, that individual feels better able and equipped to make decisions themselves and improve their life. By dealing with emotional barriers and personal concerns in an open, honest and collaborative way, I firmly believe genuine positive change can occur.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a fully qualified, highly skilled counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am passionate about my work and have an extensive professional background in both the school and private sectors.

In 2016, she launched her own private practice ‘OK Talk Counselling’ to provide a safe, secure and confidential setting where individuals can feel empowered to share their problems, issues or experiences with someone who is fully trained to help them.

I use best practice, evidence-based therapeutic approaches to facilitate practical and lasting change for individuals to help them improve their relationships, their outlook on life and their overall wellbeing.

I assess and treat mental and emotional health disorders, relationship issues and life challenges. Through various methods of counselling and psychotherapy, I work with my clients to develop meaningful behavioural changes. I also offer coping strategies for navigating life’s struggles.

My endeavour is to provide support and guidance in my client’s life. I do this by working with my client to identify triggers, cope with negative emotions and reduce symptoms in order to improve individual’s quality of life.

A positive experience of having someone safe to talk too who listened and helped provide a different perspective. Marina was kind and calm and really made me feel at ease in the sessions. I gained that its ok to not be 100% all of the time and steps to practice when I'm feeling anxious. I gained the ability to talk openly about my feelings without being judged and to start to develop the confidence to express my needs.
